Museum of London: The Best Cultural Museum of the Barbican Estate

The Museum of London traces the past of the UK's capital city and highlights its journey from ancient to modern times. It is situated in the capital city of London in proximity to the Barbican Centre and is a component of buildings created in the 1960s and 1970s to renew a region of the city that was damaged by an explosion.

The museum consists of a sequence of sequential galleries where you can explore artefacts, galleries, pictures and diagrams. It also features archaeological inventions, the built city, metropolitan progress and London's societal and cultural life, with immersive exhibitions and activities to cater to the tastes of all people of different ages. You can also observe sections of the Roman London Wall located outside the building.

The museum underwent a renovation which was finished in May 2010. This was one of the best transformations since its inauguration in 1976. The revamp was a brainchild of London-based architects Wilkinson Eyre. It highlights the chronicle of London and the natives starting from the era of the Great Fire of 1666 to the modern day. The renovation encompasses four latest galleries. The New City Gallery comprises large street-level windows along London Wall and presents an enlightened display for the Lord Mayor's State Coach.

The porticos of Modern London made the exhibition area more spacious by 25 per cent and facilitated the demonstration of 7,000 objects. Star displays include a restoration of Georgian pleasure gardens, the foreboding wooden interior of the Wellclose debtors' prison cell, an art deco lift from Selfridges department store and the puppet stars of BBC children's TV Andy Pandy and Bill and Ben.
